Your First eBook
Lesson 4 Module 1
Have you decided?
Are you going to write the book yourself or if you want to outsource the writing?
Nevertheless, creating your own book is a simple process.
All you have to do is follow through and you will succeed.
Writing the Book Yourself
The advantage of writing the book yourself is that you do not need to pay for a freelance writer or a writing company.
Top tier writers can cost up to $1.50 per 250 words or even more...
So if you can write the book yourself, get started!
You will also feel much more fulfilled that way after publishing your own hard work.
Outsourcing the Writing
If you simply do not have the patience to sit and write...
Or encounter writer's block every time you are jotting down an idea...
Then the next best option is to outsource your writing to a freelance writer. Fortunately, not all writers cost a bomb! You can hire them for as low as $300 for 10,000 words. However, be reminded that your book needs to be of quality. After all, it's going to be in the market for readers to read and review! If it's a high-quality book, your readers will come back for more!
And this means that you have successfully build a brand.
So aim to create a quality eBook!
Recommendations for Outsourcing Your Work
There are several platforms you can use to outsource your writing.
1) Upwork.com
2) Fiverr.com
3) Freelancer.com
Personally, my favourite is upwork.com as it is simple and straightforward to use. All you have to do is sign up for an account, post a job, and wait for freelancers to apply.
Usually after 24 hours, there will be a list of freelancers who have requested to work with you. From there, you can then scout for the writer that seems suitable for your work.
For me, I will look at their profiles, filter out profiles that are half-assed, and message the ones that I think will be suitable for the job.
To double-confirm their capabilities, you can request them to write a sample for you. (150 words) and see if their writing style fits your idea.
Below, you can download the book template I have attached to send to your freelancer writer. (Make the necessary amendments)
Remember, if you are outsourcing your book, you need to get into the nook and cranny of it and be as detailed as possible!!
Formatting Your Book
After you have obtain your manuscript or final draft of your book. It's time for you to format it.
If you have experience formatting a document in Word, by all means go ahead and get started.
However, if you do not have experience formatting your book, just head on to fiverr.com and search the term "eBook formatting" and you can get yours formatted for less than $10.
